It's very common for these implementations to have ISV which stands for independent software vendor, or third-party vendor products as a part of the total solution.ĭynamics NAV on the other hand doesn't have quite the same feature set as Dynamics GP however, it has a very strong tool set to enable you to tailor and customize that solution to meet unique needs. GP is a best-of-breed, off-the-shelf solution typically designed for organizations where they're going to tailor their workflow to the way GP does it. Both of these were built for the mid-market, which is that tier below the Fortune 1000. If you're not that big or that scale seems a little too much for your organization, take a look at Dynamics GP or NAV. It's not for the faint of heart-implementations will take upwards of a year or longer and will require on-site, local, dedicated project management, but the solution is powerful, feature-rich and worth a look. If your organization is a multinational manufacturer with hundreds of users, Dynamics AX is a solution you should look at. It competes regularly with solutions such as SAP and Oracle. Now for the product comparison it's pretty simple: Dynamics AX is Microsoft's best-of-breed solution, built for the Fortune 1000. Mid-market organizations are loosely defined today as companies with up to a billion in revenue and about 250 users. The first: large, global, manufacturing, international organization-basically the Fortune 1000. They can be summarized by categorizing them into two different groups. Specifically, we're looking at the differences between Dynamics AX, Dynamics GP, and Dynamics NAV because these three offer the most common feature set and overlap, and we get the most questions to help differentiate those when organizations are trying to determine which one is best for them. Today I'm comparing the differences between products in the Microsoft Dynamics product line.
